Shri. K. M. Mathew (Malayala Manorama) passes away
Kottayam: Chief editor of Malayala Manorama K.M. Mathew died early Sunday at his residence here in Kerala. He was 93.
Mathew is survived by three sons and a daughter.
An active person throughout his life, Mathew was till a few days back taking part in the running of the acclaimed newspaper.
Mathew’s body would be kept for the public to pay their last respects from around 4 pm at his residence in Kanjikkuzhi, Kottayam.
The body will be kept at Malayala Manorama office at 1 pm for the public to pay homage.
The funeral would take place at 4 p.m. Monday near here and leading personalities from all sections of the society are expected to attend the ceremony.

More than 100 Cathedral members attended this occasion & around 65 members donated blood.

Orthodox Students are constructing church in Coimbatore
In Coimbatore around 200 orthodox students are studying in Karunya University. Most of them are Engineering and Management students. They don’t have any orthodox church nearby their college. The Orthodox Church in Coimbatore is about 40km away, St.Marys Cathedral, Coimbatore and St.Thomas church, K.K.Pudur, Coimbatore. Only few, senior boys students can attend the Holy Qurbana, because the college rule doesn’t permit to go out for this much distance for juniors and girls. Orthodox students are left with no choice other than attend the available protestant /Pentecostal services. With the guidance of Madras diocese Metrapolitan HG Yuhanon Mar Diascorus thirumeni and Fr.Thampy Varghese, they were able to acquire 10 cents of land in Coimbatore , near their college, They collected money from their parents, well wishers and old students, Most of them from Kerala and few from Gulf, mainly Abu Dhabi, Kuwait etc . They have an alumni of Abu Dhabi St.George Orthodox Cathedral Sunday school,. The spiritual nature they received from our Orthodox churches and Sunday schools inspired them to take the initiative in this matter.
Now they are looking for the support to constructing the church.

He is the member of Bahrain St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Cathedral and the home parish is St.George Orthodox Valiyapally, Puthoor, Kollam. He is working with Bahrain Financing Company as a Financial Controller. |

Abudhabi: Orthodox Christian Youth Movement, Abu Dhabi will be conducting a Love Feast / Sneha Virunnu on July 3rd in all the destitute homes under Malankara Orthodox Church as a part of Marthoma Smrithi 2010. Marthoma Smrithi is a year long programme conducted by St George Orthodox Cathedral Movement, Abu Dhabi venerating St Thomas, the patron saint of our Church. |
